  • Gabriel and Braden Kalla launched the Kalla Foundation to offer disaster prevention scholarships to high school seniors after recent floods. The program begins in (18 counties) and will expand statewide as community support grows.  The State Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Kentucky health officials said flu cases are climbing and the season is far from its peak, warning residents that numbers may increase in the coming weeks.  WKYT
  • State health officials announced that a child from Kenton County died from influenza, the season's first pediatric flu fatality, after not receiving the vaccine. Officials urge families to protect at-risk community members by practicing good hygiene and getting vaccinated.  Kentucky Today
  • The FDA approved Novo Nordisk’s once-daily Wegovy pill for weight loss yesterday, and the drug will launch early January to help Kentuckians manage obesity + lower heart risks. Clinical trials showed an average weight loss of 16.6%.  The State Journal
