- ➤ Spencer County Middle School teacher Michelle Gross, named Kentucky Teacher of the Year, was selected as a finalist for the National Teacher of the Year award by the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and will travel to Washington, D.C. in the spring for interviews. Kentucky Today
- ➤ A new report by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education shows six in 10 college students now graduate debt-free, up from four in 10 in 2019–20. The report notes lower loan balances for community colleges ($13,739) and public universities ($32,564) in 2024–25. Kentucky Today

- ➤ A Frankfort man claimed a $2 million Mega Millions prize from the Dec. 26, 2025 drawing after purchasing tickets at Racetrac (101 Bizzack Blvd.). He picked family birthdates for his numbers and later told officials he planned to invest his winnings and travel. WKYT
