- ➤ Firefighters in Franklin County rescued a horse trapped on a frozen pond Friday as quick resident calls prompted the safe recovery of the animal, which suffered no injuries and is now recovering well. WTVQ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Parents are asking for a change as FCPS marks its seventh day of remote classes, and school officials have not scheduled a return to in-person learning. WKYT
- ➤ Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education approved a new doctoral veterinary medicine program at Murray State University to ease a state shortage. Murray State will seek provisional accreditation from the AVMA so that the first class can be admitted in fall 2028 (pending approval). Kentucky Today

- ➤ Kentucky State Police offers a Trooper Teddy Valentine's Day Sale from Feb. 2-16, selling bears at $20 each to help children facing trauma. The first 50 online orders get a free sticker while proceeds fund care through the Trooper Teddy Project. LEX 18
