  • Former pastor Samuel G McKinney was found guilty on one count of first-degree rape involving a child under 12 in a decades-old case; his sentencing will be on June 3 and he must serve at least 85% of his 20-year term before parole eligibility.  WTVQ

  • Federal and state tax officials announced an extension of the tax filing deadline to Nov. 3 for all Kentuckians affected by severe storms and flooding that began Feb. 14—taxpayers will get automatic filing relief without needing to ask for an extension.  WKYT
  • The Judicial Nominating Commission, led by Chief Justice Debra Hembree Lambert, named three Lexington nominees — William Patrick Moynahan, Todd Smith Page and Lucy A. VanMeter — to fill a vacancy on the Court of Appeals for the 5th Appellate District covering eight counties. Gov. Andy Beshear will choose one of them within 60 days before the General Election.  Kentucky Today
