- ➤ Toyota announced a $1 billion investment across its Kentucky & Indiana operations as it celebrated 40 years in Scott County; the company will spend $800 million to prepare its Georgetown plant for its second battery electric vehicle production this fall and invest $4 million to expand STEM learning. - ➤ Bridging the Gap and Frankfort Focus on Race Relations hosted the Renaissance Ball at Foundry on West Broadway Street Saturday night to celebrate the Great Migration and African-American cultural arts, with hosts Kristie Powe and Roni Robinson and music from Keith McCutchen and a live jazz band. - ➤ Staff Sgt. Shea E. Moody and Spc. Caleb M. Green earned top honors at the Kentucky Army National Guard Best Warrior Competition held at the Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center (in Greenville). They will represent the Guard at the regional event from Apr. 25 to May 1. Kentucky Today
- ➤ The state Senate's budget proposal would change how funds are allocated to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, putting pressure on branches that serve thousands of children; directors warn some locations may shut their doors by May if funds do not fill the gap. - ➤ Kentucky's General Assembly passed House Bill 1 to start a federal tax credit scholarship program funding both public and private schools, overriding Gov. Beshear's veto. Gov. Beshear warned + a legal battle may follow if a court rules that only public funds can be used for schools. LEX 18
