Gas prices in Kentucky remain among the nation's lowest, but experts warn Lexington prices will rise above $3 per gallon later this week due to a switch in fuel blend.

They advise drivers to fill up now to avoid higher costs.

On March 24th the Governor signed a bill that creates a new section of KRS Chapter 383 so a property owner or authorized agent can ask law enforcement to remove unlawful occupants and receive criminal and civil immunity when acting in good faith.

The law also creates a civil cause of action for wrongful removal.

House Bill 30 passed both chambers and was signed by the governor on March 24th; it amends KRS 16.198 to require Kentucky State Police to set regulations for vacation, bereavement, and sick leave for Trooper R and CVE R employees at rates matching those with less than five years of service. A Senate amendment also requires the department to provide at least eight hours of sick leave and eight hours of annual leave for these officers (the regulations will be updated to reflect these changes).

Gov. Andy Beshear vetoed House Bill 495 that would reverse his order banning conversion therapy on minors — lawmakers will have the opportunity to override his veto on Thursday and Friday.

House Bill 306 advanced through several legislative steps since its introduction on February 4th—passing readings, committee reviews, and amendments in both chambers.

The governor signed the bill on March 24th, finalizing its approval.
