GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Andy Beshear vetoed Senate Bill 89 on Tuesday because the measure would have changed state water protections to match federal law—putting over 150 public water systems at risk and leaving private wells vulnerable. - ➤ Secretary of State Michael Adams criticized Governor Beshear’s veto of House Bill 684 (HB684), which would have expanded early in-person voting options. Lawmakers reconvene today and Friday to consider overriding the veto. WKYT
- ➤ FEMA representatives are expected to contact residents in the 16 counties affected by February flooding to help with issues like missing documents and scheduling inspections (calls may come from unknown numbers).
