  • Today is calm with sunny skies and highs in the low 60's (good weather for now), but a storm system will bring gusty winds and warmer air midweek with a chance of severe storms and flooding (a flood watch is in effect from Wednesday evening through Sunday morning).  WTVQ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Andy Beshear honored the service of 1st Lt. Joe A. De Jarnette—a U.S. Army Air Force pilot from northern Kentucky killed in action during World War II—whose remains were identified and will be interred in Erlanger next month. Flags will be lowered to half-staff on the day of his burial.  Kentucky Today
  • The state capitol lawn now features 3,000 pinwheels to mark Child Abuse Prevention Month after Governor Beshear signed a proclamation early—each pin represents 17 children born last year. Executive director Jill Seyfred said a new committee will visit all 120 counties in 120 days to expand access to vital resources.  LEX 18
