- ➤ Gov. Andy Beshear and KSP invite residents to join the seventh annual Cover the Cruiser campaign—an ongoing fundraiser where a $1 donation adds a custom sticker to a cruiser to support Special Olympics Kentucky athletes. The event runs until April 17. The State Journal
- ➤ Capital City Activity Center offers a week of community classes and events from Monday, Apr. 13 to Friday, Apr. 17, featuring billiards, Tai Chi sessions, game days, and Paint Bowls for a fundraiser. - ➤ The U.S. Army designated the Kentucky JROTC Directorate as a Program of Record in Frankfort—boosting leadership training and oversight for 98 cadet units through the Kentucky Department of Education. Kentucky Today
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Drought conditions have worsened statewide as the U.S. Drought Monitor report shows that only 11.78% of the region has no drought, with 37.04% in moderate drought and 17.85% in severe drought (D2). Experts say short-term dryness continues while forecasts expect near-normal rainfall and warmer temperatures. Kentucky Today

- ➤ State Budget Director said March General Fund receipts increased 6.2 percent to $1,128.8 million while Road Fund receipts grew 6.0 percent to $151.7 million, with strong sales + use tax collections boosting revenues. Receipts remain on track to meet state fiscal projections. Kentucky Today
- ➤ Motorists are advised that overnight lane closures on eastbound I-64 between mile markers 53 and 58 in Franklin County will occur from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly beginning Sunday until May 12 (or until work is complete) due to paving as part of an improvement project. The State Journal
