- ➤ Moose (with a back leg injury) and Hazel, the museum cats that helped control pests, were adopted yesterday; Moose went to a museum worker and Hazel to a Shelby County nurse as L.I.F.E. House said the program met its goals. The State Journal
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The U.S. Army designated the Kentucky JROTC Directorate a Program of Record on Sunday, Apr. 12, boosting leadership support for 98 JROTC units. The new status will enhance statewide cadet training through coordinated evaluations and competitions. The State Journal
- ➤ Residents can now support students at Gateway and other community colleges by renewing their registration with the new KCTCS license plate, which adds $10 to student emergency funds. KCTCS officials expect at least 500 registrations yearly — a necessity to keep the program sustainable. LINK nky
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The DEA is hosting National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Apr. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Frankfort residents can visit local drop-off sites to safely dispose of unused prescriptions, reducing the risk of drug misuse. 92.7 The Wave
