EDUCATION NEWS

  • Blue Grass Community Action Partnership will expand its summer day camp to 10 weeks from May 26 to August 7 for children aged 5–12, offering themed weekly activities and transportation for families in Franklin & Anderson counties. The program aims to spark learning and adventure in a safe, engaging setting.  The State Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell announced the proposal window for the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program is open as privately owned companies, small businesses, nonprofits, and public universities can submit proposals by 4:30 p.m. EDT on May 11 (aiming to boost local specialty crop competitiveness).  Kentucky Today
  • On Tuesday at The Foundry on Broadway, Frankfort officials and Sasaki representatives hosted the first in-person open house for the Riverfront Development Strategic Plan and gathered community feedback to help plan walking trails, parks and floodable amenities. Additional sessions are planned for May and June.  The State Journal
