CRIME NEWS

  • Jay Corman, son of RJ Corman, was arrested after a 2:26 a.m. incident on April 4 at Airport Highway in Jessamine County – deputies say he trespassed on his father's property, entered a home, and threatened residents before being tased and charged with burglary, trespassing, and terroristic threatening.  WKYT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame is accepting nominations for the Class of 2025 to honor educators who have shown exceptional dedication. Eligible nominees must have at least 19 years of teaching experience (including 10 years in Kentucky P-12 schools) and nominations must be submitted by August 15.  92.7 The Wave

  • Secretary of State Michael Adams invites Kentucky students to join the second annual 'I Voted' sticker contest with entries due by May 23 at 5 p.m. EST; submissions must be original JPEG or PNG images that include the phrase 'I Voted' and students in kindergarten through twelfth grade are invited to participate — finalists will be chosen for a ballot at the 2025 Kentucky State Fair with the winning design printed for county clerks to distribute in the primary election in May 2026.  WKYT
  • Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams is inviting all Kentucky students from kindergarten to 12th grade to enter the second annual 'I Voted' sticker contest.   • KDE Commissioner Robbie Fletcher said in an email sent Sunday that Kentucky public schools have removed all diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. School districts must sign a letter by Friday to confirm the change—over $1 billion in annual funding may be at risk.  WKYT
