- ➤ Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky announced that executive director Jill Seyfred is retiring after 38 years at the helm and 42 years of service. - ➤ Lyric Theatre has opened its new library, welcoming community members to enjoy the space (open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday) for reading and study. WKYT

- ➤ The Kentucky Virtual Library has expanded its contract with EBSCO to offer LearningExpress Library Complete and Financial Fit at schools and libraries statewide, helping residents prepare for college entrance exams and strengthen financial literacy (a key resource for students and job seekers). - ➤ WalkBike Frankfort has launched a Bike Bus program in South Frankfort to safely transport kids to school, with rides every Friday starting at 7 a.m. at the F.D. Wilkinson Gymnasium (weather permitting). The State Journal
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The USDA warns that the invasive Asian Needle Ant (a stinging species) has begun appearing in Kentucky and displacing native seed dispersers essential for forest health. Its sting can cause intense pain and severe allergic reactions in some residents. WKYT

- ➤ Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell invites Kentucky Proud members to apply for the 2026 Farm to Fork program to secure grants that reimburse up to 50% of eligible food products for event promotion.
