- ➤ Kentucky taxpayers face an average tax increase of $1,715 per filer if Congress does not extend the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that expires at the end of this year—according to a report by the National Taxpayers Union Foundation. The report also found that a proposal to raise the state and local tax cap to $25,000 would benefit less than 1% of the relief for Kentucky while most gains go to high-tax states. WKYT

- ➤ Kentucky Housing Corporation warned that if Congress approves the proposed White House budget the state will lose nearly half its federal housing funds—this cut would eliminate programs like Section 8 and affect about 149,000 households and more than 10,000 landlords statewide. - ➤ State officials from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and the Kentucky Conservation Officers’ Association will hold a memorial service Monday at 11 a.m. at the Fallen Officers Memorial at 1 Sportsman’s Lane to honor 11 game wardens who died in the line of duty— including Tex Bailey, who died Nov. 1 in Barren County—with speeches from Commissioner Rich Storm, Col.
