Kentucky auditor Allison Ball sued Gov. Beshear on Thursday, asking a judge to order his administration to end a funding dispute that is delaying Senate Bill 151 (a law that helps relatives care for children who have been abused or neglected).

The suit claims that (about $20 million is needed) and argues the state Constitution requires the governor to enforce Kentucky laws.

Sen. Rand Paul told FOX 56 that tariffs hurt local businesses like bourbon makers, shippers, and farmers while many back his view on cutting spending and keeping tax cuts in place.

He said he will watch the race for McConnell’s seat and delay his vote on the bill — a step aimed at protecting Kentucky jobs.

Kentucky Auditor Allison Ball has launched an investigation into the Office of Medical Cannabis after receiving calls from reporters, farmers and small business owners who raised concerns about recurring issues with application stacking and vertical integration by an out-of-state company—some reports noted illegitimate location details. Her office is reviewing each business amid questions on the fairness of the lottery process, while Governor Beshear maintained that nothing illegal occurred.

Gov. Andy Beshear approved an extension on Friday for Disaster Unemployment Assistance registration for residents left unemployed by February flooding—affected residents now have until May 27 to file a claim on the Kentucky Career Center website.

On May 15, Gov. Beshear said that in April, Kentucky reached record highs for employment, filled jobs and its labor force according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics—his update also noted that over 11,700 Kentuckians will soon receive workforce training alongside more than $35 billion in private investments. This record achievement follows increases noted in March.

FEMA reminded Kentuckians in 16 disaster counties that experienced February and early March severe weather and flooding that May 25 is the deadline to apply for individual assistance; residents in 30 other counties hit by April storms must apply by June 25 — applicants can visit a Disaster Recovery Center, use the mobile app, or apply online.
