📰 Economy
GasBuddy data show that Kentucky’s regular gas averaged $4.16 per gallon on Monday, and global supply concerns plus shifting diplomatic talks have kept prices volatile for Frankfort drivers.
🎓 Education
Kentucky State Police welcomed 81 cadets (75 new recruits and six experienced officers) to begin a 24-week training program at the KSP Academy over the past weekend.
Cadet Class 107 represents 45 counties, and a new group is scheduled to arrive in March 2027.
🏛️ Government
Kentucky State Police and law enforcement from five nearby states are enforcing seat belt rules until May 25 (as part of the 6-State Trooper Project).
Troopers will increase patrols on highways, state roads and rural areas to remind everyone to buckle up.
Governor Beshear has created a new task force to support small businesses across the commonwealth – the team includes Jason Slone from the Morehead-Rowan Chamber and will advise on strategies to help companies overcome challenges and grow.

A Stanford family from Lincoln County is raising awareness for childhood cancer research after their son Bowen was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor; they visit truck shows to share his story + promote early detection statewide.
