- ➤ Franklin County residents held solemn Memorial Day services at Frankfort Cemetery on Monday to honor fallen service members — including Billy Ray Parker, who died in Vietnam at 20; the ceremony read 139 names to ensure their sacrifices are not forgotten. LEX 18

- ➤ Kentucky will receive $69.5 million from federal grants to reclaim abandoned mine lands with projects planned in eastern and western regions.
