CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Russell County officials and Kentucky State Police are investigating after a neighbor found Thomas Sawyer, 78, and Dorothy Sawyer, 80, dead from apparent gunshot wounds at a home on Cherokee Trail in Jabez on Saturday night—both victims were taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for autopsies. - ➤ Kentucky Transportation Cabinet warned Kentuckians that scammers sent texts claiming unpaid traffic tickets and threatening a DMV violation if fees were not paid immediately. The cabinet said it does not collect ticket fees & is working to remove the fake websites while advising anyone who shared personal details to contact their bank. Kentucky Today
- ➤ On Friday, Attorney General Russel Coleman filed a lawsuit against Lexington-based roofing company Lexington Blue and its owner Bradley Pagel, alleging the company accepted nearly $5 million for over 300 incomplete projects in 2024. Lexington Blue closed in late April—former clients have also filed a class action suit for services not performed. FOX 56
