COMMUNITY NEWS

  • AT&T donated $10,000 to the Frankfort First Foundation to support flood-related disaster relief efforts in Franklin County + the foundation said the funds will help provide resources to residents affected by recent flooding.  The State Journal

CRIME NEWS

  • Deputies in Franklin County searched for a missing man after four men went under water during a tubing accident at Elkhorn Creek Saturday afternoon—three men resurfaced unharmed as rapid currents paused the search on Sunday.  WKYT

HEALTH NEWS

  • Researchers at Oklahoma State University warn that the invasive Asian Longhorned Tick (which can lay up to 2,500 eggs and reproduce without mating) may cause deadly blood loss in cattle after being found in many states including Kentucky. Cattle producers are urged to check their herds regularly and call a veterinarian if the tick is detected.  FOX 56
  • State health officials said on June 6 that two infants died from whooping cough because neither the infants nor their mothers got the needed shots (the first such deaths since 2018). Officials urged all families to update immunizations (especially for pregnant women and infants) to help prevent more severe illness.  92.7 The Wave
