- ➤ The Scott County Fire Department provided additional aid on Sunday night as firefighters rescued kayakers from strong currents near Elkhorn Creek in Franklin County, with Swift-Water Technicians and other agencies helping to secure everyone's safety + one man remains missing after he went underwater while tubing with his family on Saturday. - ➤ The 2025 Kids Count Data Book shows Kentucky ranks 36th out of 50 states in factors such as education, health, family, economic well-being and community — with 63% of preschoolers not attending school and many fourth and eighth graders not meeting key skills. - ➤ FOX 56 reports brood 14 cicadas have emerged in Kentucky with males making loud noise to attract mates while waiting 17 years underground; entomologists say the harmless insects will disappear by the last week of June or the first week of July + residents should keep yard work quiet to avoid attracting more. - ➤ Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman joined 28 state attorneys general in a letter to Meta calling on the company to improve safety measures for its Meta AI which may expose children to explicit content and help adults simulate grooming; he is co-leading a lawsuit alleging that Meta violated consumer protection laws and COPPA by unlawfully collecting data and allowing underage sexual role-play + the group requests that Meta halt these features for users under 18.
