FEMA announced on Monday more than $70 million in aid for Kentucky families hit by three disasters declared this year — with over $46.8 million for February floods helping more than 7,100 households, $22 million for April flooding available until July 25, and $1.3 million for May tornado losses available until July 23.

Kentucky State Auditor Allison Ball announced today that her office will begin a special audit of Fayette County Public Schools—she is acting on concerns from parents and a recent Attorney General statement that labeled the school board’s plan to raise the occupational licensing tax unlawful. The district said it will work with her office as it continues to focus on careful spending and transparency.
