🚨 Crime
Frankfort police arrested 36-year-old Thomas Burton after he called for help just before midnight on June 9 and later attacked officers on the 100 block of Pickett Avenue—he reportedly kicked two officers, was tased during the arrest, and is now being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
Police arrested Kentucky murder suspect Jesse Lewis—accused of killing Michael Walker in Clark County—in Montana.
📰 Economy
Kentucky tourism generated $14.3 billion in economic impact and supported 97,394 jobs in 2024 as Gov. Andy Beshear announced a record year for the industry.
A total of 80 million travelers visited the state and spent $10.1 billion on food, lodging, transportation, retail, and recreation, showing that tourism continues to grow and support the economy.
🏛️ Government
Attorney General Russell Coleman and 23 state attorneys general sent a letter to Congress urging passage of H.R.
38 to allow law-abiding concealed carry permit holders to carry guns across state lines, with Coleman saying the bill will simplify rules for responsible gun owners + help prevent unfair penalties for those who travel with a permit.
