EDUCATION NEWS

  • KCTCS marked its record academic year when the system awarded 44,402 credentials and 24,263 graduates across more than 70 campuses—setting new records since the 1997-98 school year. The Spring 2025 term also broke records as 23,313 credentials were granted to 13,468 graduates, and final counts will be sent to the council next month.  Kentucky Today
  • FCPS is asking parents to update bus rider information—this update is required before the new bus system rolls out this school year.  WKYT
  • Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education announced Tuesday that the state joined a national initiative to expand postsecondary opportunities for justice-impacted individuals who are incarcerated, on probation or parole — the state team from CPE, the Kentucky Community and Technical College System and the Kentucky Department of Corrections will remove education barriers and align programs with workforce needs — it aims to help reduce recidivism.  Kentucky Today

  • Kentucky State Auditor Allison Ball said that many special needs children lost Medicaid waiver services when a subcontractor called Carewise denied them during an annual review+ the Ombudsman's office sent a letter to Health and Family Services Secretary Eric Friedlander to demand answers and safeguards.  WKYT
