State Auditor Allison Ball said the Office of the Ombudsman formally asked CHFS for details about the widespread denials of waiver services for children during HCBW eligibility reviews—reports show an error by a subcontractor led to these denials and the request seeks clear explanations and corrective actions.

In 2024, Kentucky’s Drinking Water Compliance Report showed that public water systems delivered high-quality drinking water with less than 0.001 percent of tests showing health-based violations — a result credited to diligent state monitoring by the Division of Water.
