- ➤ The National Student Clearinghouse report shows that Kentucky improved its one-year undergraduate persistence by 9.8 percentage points and retention by 7.9 points from 2023 to 2024 to rates of 85.3 percent and 74 percent, which are above national averages — the Council on Postsecondary Education said these gains were due to changes like removing non-credit remedial courses and boosting dual credit programs in high school. - ➤ Eastern Kentucky officials stress the need to be prepared for flash flooding as deadly floods in Texas and past losses in Pike County show the risks.
