  • On Monday, Attorney General Russell Coleman announced his office secured $14.4 million in additional settlement funds from opioid manufacturers — the agreement requires companies to change their marketing practices and will support prevention, treatment and recovery efforts across the state.  Kentucky Today

HEALTH NEWS

  • The CDC says this summer has seen record tick-related ER visits while Dr. Jonathan Larson from UK noted that black legged deer ticks, American dog ticks, Asian longhorned ticks, and lonestar ticks are common in Kentucky—he advises wearing long pants and consulting a vet about pet tick prevention. The agency warns to watch for flu-like symptoms after a tick bite.  LEX 18
