The Grand Theatre (historic venue) reopens on Saturday, Aug.
1 with Cherry Poppin’ Daddies performing with opener Davina Sowers and the Vagabonds. A street party with dance demos and local specials will begin at 5 p.m. before the ribbon cutting.
On July 12, the annual Dueling Pianos show at First Presbyterian Church drew over 200 spectators and raised nearly $4,000 for the Franklin County Humane Society — the performance featured four musicians who switched partners during an hour-long benefit that blended classical and festive tunes.
🏛️ Government
Kentucky’s bus safety law took effect July 15 and requires all motorists to stop for any school or church bus with flashing red lights and an extended stop arm on every road except for four-lane-plus roads with a raised barrier or unpaved median (center turning lanes not included).
