Frankfort’s new Target had a soft opening Tuesday (local dignitaries including Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman, Gov. Andy Beshear, Target Store Director Daaja Shands and Mayor Layne Wilkerson attended the ribbon-cutting as confetti fell).

Kentucky will release final 2025-2026 report cards this fall as one last set is issued before changes take effect under House Bill 257.
The new law, announced in the spring, will let local districts help design grading criteria + add metrics like attendance.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that preservation work on the Capital Avenue Bridge will force a weekend closure from 7 p.m. Friday, July 24 until 5 a.m. Monday, July 27.
Motorists will need to follow the posted detour route.

Veterans Affairs signed a lease for a new outpatient clinic in Frankfort that will expand health care access for veterans; the 20,751 sqft facility will include 120 parking spaces and updated equipment.
