GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Franklin County courts will return to the remodeled courthouse on St. Clair Street in Frankfort on Sept. 2 after months in temporary locations due to the April flooding (the clerk’s temporary office will close for in-person business this Friday and reopen next week inside the courthouse).  WTVQ
  • Kentucky State Police announced they are recruiting the next Cadet Class 107 — offering starting salaries of $69,500 and 24 weeks of training that covers criminal investigations, crisis response, high-speed pursuits and community relations. Training begins in May and applications, including an accelerated option for experienced officers, are due by December 5.  WTVQ
  • Franklin County court operations will return to the courthouse after Labor Day with all district, circuit, and family proceedings resuming in-person on Tuesday—temporary offices used since April due to flooding on the Kentucky River will close on Friday, and the courthouse at 222 St. Clair St. is ready for business.  Kentucky Today
