  • Phillip Case offers local gardeners three options to clean up spent plants and prepare the soil for next spring — leaving them to dry, tilling them in for compost, or pulling and grinding them to remove pests; he also advises planting a ground cover or turnips to enrich the soil for next season.  The State Journal

  • Kentucky football lost 30-23 to No. 20 Ole Miss on Saturday. The Wildcats held Ole Miss to 3 of 13 on third down but a 55-yard play on 4th down shifted the momentum—quarterback Zach Calzada left with a shoulder injury and Cutter Boley had limited play.  WTVQ
