- ➤ A local mom has started the Capital Area Autism Parents Facebook page to support families in need—she created the group after her son was diagnosed with autism and now works with co-administrator Elle Travis to build a safe space for parents, caregivers and professionals. The online group offers vital information and resources while helping members connect across Central Kentucky. The State Journal

- ➤ Game Wardens from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources served 10 search warrants on Sept. 12 as part of Operation River Raid to target illegal catfish harvest and sale statewide—further charges and evidence details will be released later. 92.7 The Wave
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Swim With Purpose and the YMCA of Central Kentucky have partnered to offer a free water safety field trip and swim lessons to 115 Frankfort Independent elementary students on Sept 22—students will travel from Second Street School to Lexington facilities for dry land and pool instruction. Those who want more practice may join an extended program from Oct 6—10 that supplies transportation, lunch, and swimsuits to help build essential water safety skills. The State Journal
