CULTURE NEWS

  • Bluegrass Theatre Guild will hold auditions for Ratatat Man: The Little Drummer Boy Comes of Age at Thorn Hill Education Center, 700 Leslie Ave on Monday, Sept 29 and Wednesday, Oct 1 from 6 to 8 p.m.+ the play invites actors of all ages to try out for various roles.  The State Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Kentucky AG Russell Coleman and West Virginia AG are co-leading a 26-state coalition to repeal EPA policies they say have burdened the local economy—these policies include the 2009 Endangerment Finding, electric vehicle mandates, and the Clean Power Plan.  Kentucky Today
  • Rep. Vanessa Grossl plans to file a bill in January that would let the Kentucky Horse Park Commission remove anyone who risks child safety by linking SafeSport rules—this proposal aims to safeguard children at Horse Park events and supports the park’s role as a key local economic driver.  Kentucky Today
  • Politician Charles Booker resigned as head of the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives in the Beshear administration, announcing Tuesday was his last day and saying his work was far from done—Gov. Beshear wished him well. No reason for his departure has been given.  Louisville Public Media

HEALTH NEWS

  • First Lady Britainy Beshear delivered a proclamation Wednesday morning that designates September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in Kentucky—this marks the state’s recognition of children battling cancer.  WKYT

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Juniper Hill Wednesday Ladies Golf League held its Sept 17 round with 49 golfers competing in four flights—winners included Connie Goins with the first low gross in First Flight, Robin Moore with the first low gross in Second Flight, and other top players in Third and Fourth Flights. The league will use an EOL Scramble format on Oct 1.  The State Journal
