- ➤ On Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m., the Grand Theatre will host the second annual Just Say Yes Showcase where professional musicians and local youth perform to support the Yes Card program. Cellist Ben Sollee and athletic director Jackie Gordon Duvall serve as hosts—while the event will also announce two annual prevention awards. The State Journal
- ➤ Life Adventure Center in Versailles is hosting a free Tree Week drop-in celebration today from 3 to 5 p.m. at its pavilion on Milner Road where guided nature activities, tree-inspired crafts, and complimentary snacks from Estepp Energy are offered—organized by the Urban Forest Initiative—to connect community members. - ➤ Amazon announced it is hiring 14,000 seasonal workers to meet holiday demands, with 3,000 openings in Kentucky and 11,000 in Ohio. The company will offer flexible schedules and average wages above $19 an hour — employees will also receive a full compensation package that brings total hourly pay above $30. LINK nky

- ➤ Buffalo Trace Distillery debuts Night at the Distillery, a Halloween event that offers a self-guided tour with cocktail tastings and keepsakes for $35 per person on Oct. 23-25 and Oct. 30-Nov. 1. A private ghost hunting giveaway open until 11:59 a.m. on Oct. 22 offers a chance for a guided paranormal tour, dinner in Frankfort, and round-trip coach airfare. The State Journal

- ➤ Kentucky schools made progress in filling educator positions as 34 districts reported no vacancies in September— a dramatic jump from only one district last year. The statewide survey found 2,421 vacancies, and districts used emergency certificates and substitute teachers to keep classes running. LEX 18

- ➤ Kentucky women’s basketball guard Dominika Paurová will be out indefinitely after tearing her ACL — she suffered a similar injury while transferring from Oregon State to Kentucky.
