COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Area churches and faith communities will participate in the fall Interfaith Food Drive on Sunday to support the Emergency Community Food Pantry that helps families in need in Franklin County (the drive accepts non-perishable food and monetary donations and marks over 40 years of community support).  The State Journal
  • The Franklin County Community Fund celebrated its 10th anniversary on Monday and is nearing $1 million in assets as local donors helped support grants for nonprofits—showing strong community backing. The fund, managed by the Blue Grass Community Foundation, has become a key resource in the region.  The State Journal

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Buffalo Trace has announced that it will host its Night at the Distillery event on Halloween — inviting guests to celebrate the holiday at the distillery.  WKYT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Monday, the Beshear administration reallocated $9.1 million from an unused Medicaid study to restock funds for senior meal services—officials say the move underscores needed changes in funding practices.  WKYT
  • Online applications for youth and mobility-impaired waterfowl quota hunts at state-run fish hatcheries near Frankfort and Morehead open Nov. 1–15 for hunts set on Saturdays and Sundays in January starting Jan. 3, 2026—drawn hunters will be notified by mail with permits and instructions.  Kentucky Today
