- ➤ Amanda Couch has been named the new CEO at Welcome House — one of the largest housing service providers in the region. Couch, who has spent 11 years at the organization including street outreach, said she is ready to work with staff and community partners to help more Kentuckians secure stable housing. LINK nky

- ➤ Franklin County has recorded 22 child deaths from abuse since 2014 as reports of harm have risen—local experts say the new Fathers of Frankfort program will provide mentoring to help support dads and prevent further tragedies. The State Journal
- ➤ Frankfort residents found hate-filled propaganda posted overnight in several neighborhoods, including near Second Street School and Frankfort High School. The police increased patrols and urged anyone with surveillance footage to call the non-emergency line—officials say they will track down those responsible to keep the community safe. - ➤ Justin Brooks, a senior at Western Hills, was named WesBanco Student of the Week after receiving a Fall 2025 Flight Training Scholarship from DreamFlight Charities—he has already taken discovery flights and begun aviation courses at Bluegrass Community and Technical College to kick-start his career. His scholarship offers up to $6,000 for flight training, supporting his goal of becoming a pilot. The State Journal

- ➤ The U.S. Small Business Administration reminds Kentucky small businesses and private nonprofit organizations to apply for low interest disaster loans by Nov 24 to recover from severe weather that hit from Feb 14 to March 7. - ➤ Four Kentuckians saved Trooper Jude Remilien’s life after he was shot on July 13 outside Blue Grass Airport and were honored with the state's highest awards—recognized by Gov. - ➤ Kentuckians can drop off unused prescriptions today—part of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day—at around 50 sites to safely dispose of medications and reduce misuse.
