  • The State Journal has announced an expanded Shop Local partnership with local businesses to boost economic vitality and preserve Frankfort’s small-town feel—encouraging residents to shop local as they prepare for holiday events like the Downtown Candlelight Weekend from Nov. 13—15.   • Kentucky advocates say that premiums for 2026 coverage on Kynect will be higher after families received early October notifications showing an average $181 rise+clients are urged to review their budgets before enrolling by Dec. 15.  WKYT

  • A forecast for the KHSAA football playoffs shows likely matchups for classes 6A through 1A based on district champions and RPI ratings — predictions include home-site assignments and potential upsets that may alter planned pairings.  LINK nky
  • Franklin County senior Jack Oldham overcame a high ankle sprain to lead the Flyers with 24 carries for 160 yards and one touchdown in FCHS’ 28-18 win over Bowling Green, and he is now the team’s leading rusher with 359 yards and four touchdowns this season—he was named Traditional Bank Athlete of the Week as the undefeated Flyers prepare to host Waggener in the Class 4A state playoffs Friday.  The State Journal
  • Franklin County and Western Hills moved their first-round Class 4A playoff games to Thursday because Friday’s forecast shows heavy rain and thunderstorms. FCHS, 10-0, will host Waggener, 3-7, at Benny Watkins Field—WHHS, 4-6, will play Valley, 8-2, in Louisville at 7 p.m.  The State Journal
