- ➤ Frankfort held its third annual Turkey Extravaganza to help families in need this holiday season — local nonprofits gave away turkeys, hams and warm clothing as turnout grew by 100 from last year. - ➤ The Old Capitol opened today for a public tribute to former Governor Martha Layne Collins, who died earlier this month at age 88. Gov. - ➤ Governor Andy Beshear announced Friday that SNAP benefits were restored overnight after the state received full funding—more than half a million Kentuckians now get relief, though some still struggle, leading 8th District council member Amy Beasley to hold a food drive as state funds run only until January 30.
