COMMUNITY NEWS

  • During the holiday season the Citizen Foster Care Review Board is seeking volunteers to review foster-care cases in key counties including Anderson and Jefferson. Applicants must complete background checks and training online before joining the board that meets monthly virtually.  Kentucky Today

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Kentucky is now one of the top five states where sports betting tax revenue makes up a key portion of overall collections. The revenue surged 382% since 2021 and now accounts for 0.55% of total taxes after sports betting was legalized in 2023.  WKYT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State Budget Director John Hicks reported that November General Fund receipts rose 9.2 percent, reaching $1,375.0 million from $1,259.4 million last year. The increase was mainly driven by stronger individual income tax collections along with gains in sales, use, and property taxes.  Kentucky Today
