COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Monday, Dec. 15, members of the American Truck Historical Society, Derby City Chapter donated toys to Frankfort Fire Department's annual toy drive & supported local families. This annual event continues the chapter's tradition of giving back.  The State Journal
  • Kentuckians donated over 300,000 pounds of non-perishable food during the annual KSP 'Cram the Cruiser' drive to support local families facing hunger this holiday season. All 16 posts participated, with Henderson (Post 16) collecting 234,788 pounds.  Kentucky Today

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Kroger will run a statewide Pappy Van Winkle lottery for more than 1,000 bottles at 61 Wine and Spirit Shoppes on Saturday, Dec. 20 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.—winners will be drawn on Sunday, Dec. 21 and bottles will be available for purchase starting Dec. 22.  WTVQ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • New residents must apply for a Kentucky driver’s license within 30 days of moving and transfer their car registration, get new plates & pay taxes while meeting updated REAL ID rules starting in May. They should visit their regional KYTC office and local county clerk for next steps.  LINK nky

HEALTH NEWS

  • Federal and state officials confirmed a case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in a Jessamine County backyard flock. Officials quarantined the flock and set up a 10-km surveillance zone after depopulation began on Dec. 11 to prevent further spread.  Kentucky Today
