ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Resources will accept natural Christmas trees from Dec. 26 to Jan. 16 at 37 donation sites to create underwater fish habitats in local lakes. The trees free of decorations will be anchored to support wildlife (each tree enhances local fish cover). Kentucky Today

- ➤ The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet activated a new traffic signal at U.S. 60 and Capital Center Drive on Monday in Franklin County. Temporary electronic message boards and updated pavement markings help drivers adjust to the new traffic pattern. The State Journal
- ➤ Kentucky’s MAHA Task Force unanimously approved a set of recommendations for lawmakers to consider when the General Assembly convenes on Jan. 6. The guidance, focused on healthy food access, physical wellness, and functional medicine (developed with input from state health advocates) may shape future legislation. Kentucky Today

- ➤ Cooper girls basketball repeated as champions at the Queen of the Commonwealth with a 59-52 win over Henderson County Monday, and Holy Cross boys improved to 9-0 after winning the Gateway Holiday Classic.
