The Senate passed a bill cutting worker safety rules to the federal minimum with 28 votes to 9—if the House agrees, Gov. Beshear will soon decide its fate.

The measure would remove over 16 state protections, including the rule that required fall safety measures for workers at heights of 10 feet and above.

Lawmakers in Frankfort are rushing to pass bills on education, driver’s licenses, and artificial intelligence as the session nears its end on March 27.
